TRUE GRIT RECAP

184 players showed up to participate in the showdown between The Outlaws & Lawmen in the True Grit scenario game last Saturday. The game took place after Mattie Ross's father was murdered by one of his hired hand, Tom Chaney (portrayed by player Jerry Van Cleve); who managed to escape with her father's horses and his California gold pieces. Mattie hires Deputy U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn (portrayed by player Cody Lucas) to track down Chaney because he is described as a man with "True Grit". Cogburn teams up with Texas Ranger LaBoeuf portrayed by player Matthew Pandelakis in the hunt for the outlaws. Tom Chaney, meanwhile teams up with the notorious Pepper Gang (run by player Karl Pederson) and gives the lawmen the fight of their lives. After the Pepper Gang realized that there was no where to hide and following no rules but their own, became the aggressors repeatedly attacking the lawmen until they reached their breaking point. With the outlaws willing to do anything to secure victory, they escaped the law and made their way out of the country eliminating anyone who tried to stop them. -Scott Despite the close games, the outlaws won the first two missions throwing them in the lead. On the third and fourth missions, the lawmen came back with a win by killing the enemy commander. For the next few games the outlaws held their own against the lawmen maintaining a lead. For the final game the outlaws took control of the field, defeating the lawmen and suffering few losses.
